News on Tali's puppies

Tali on top of her kennel

It has seemed like forever but finally we have received the news we have been waiting for. Some good - some bad - as always I am afraid. The two surviving puppies that we rescued from Nowzad have been in the Kabul rescue since we got them there in Feb earlier this year and we have had no word on them really since. Today we received an email from the shelter saying that the white puppy had died from the parvo virus. Gutted is not the word.

However this little fellow is still alive although not looking as healthy as I would have hoped.

We have named him "Helmand".

Today we start the campaign to get "Helmand" to the UK - it is going to be fairly difficult with the troubles currently happening in Pakistan and the uncertain nature of daily life in Kabul. We will let you know via these pages how we do but if you want to help little Helmand then please donate what you can - just a pound will help!

If we get "Helmand" back safely to the UK then he will have to go through quarantine but with the TLC from Rebecca at the quarantine and her staff I am positive he will thrive.

Please start spreading the word.  Once little "Helmand" is back we can start the serious business of helping the thousands of dogs we had to leave behind by funding the training of potential Afghan vets and to help build and maintain the facilities like the Kabul rescue.

Please help - your support is appreciated.

Please donate what you can to support the rescue of "Helmand"  and to assist further with the welfare of the dogs in the Kabul rescue.

I went to visit Nowzad and Tali in quarantine a few days  ago and they are both doing fine - Nowzad is becoming a chubby lad but we will soon get him exercising again when he gets out at Xmas. But I think you can see it may be quite hard to separate him and Tali from their arm chairs that have made it into the runs.......
