Walking with Nowzad was probably more like trying to hold onto a steam train in a race - not ideal and definitely not that fun, especially as he does not always seem to like strangers. And with the impending visit to Crufts coming along myself and Lisa were beginning to panic - slightly.............. Thankfully help was on its way in the form of Caroline "the dog listener" and her good friend "Robin" who is also a dog listener, both having been trained by Jan Fenell. The afternoon of training proved very interesting and informative with lots being learnt about the Farthing pack - changes are now being made and put into practise. (Including teaching Lisa to stand up on her own two feet, Pen not to wash his socks and for Nowzad to stop his interest in gardening.......). But seriously, Caroline and Robin were great fun and taught us loads about our pack and the lessons are being carried forward to get Pen and Lisa trained rather than Nowzad and Tali. We are trying to carry out the action plan as best we can and the dogs are making real progress. We are now working hard as a pack to get Nowzad and Tali ready for their big day at Crufts where we can hope to spread the Nowzad message when Nowzad makes his appearance in the main arena. A big thanks to Caroline for her ongoing support and to Helen and the gang at "Just Dogs" for letting us borrow some doggie friends to put Nowzad through his paces! Robin's blog can be found here. |
