Live on the BBC!

Nowzad - the original Nowzad Dog

Okay, so a few months ago, finding Nowzad hiding under my camp bed while the Taliban mortared us, and then always by side when I had five minutes to relax, I never thought that I would be sat in an old store in the depths of Battersea cats and dogs home, having make up applied (tell anybody and I'll find you!), waiting to be interviewed by Selina Scott........Luckily I had Joy from the Mayhew to accompany me and Freddie (our researcher from the BBC) on hand to settle the nerves! (yes Commandos do get nervous too!)

Trying to hide the fact that they are both nervous!

We were guests on the Animal Rescue Live show and after the fantastic introduction put together by the BBC camera team we were interviewed on the bench with Selina Scott.

The video had been shot a few weeks before at the quarantine center and Nowzad played his part well - not eating any of the camera crew and looking all sweet and innocent!

Although we only had a few minutes of airtime it went really well and we managed to get the message across!

Nowzad Dogs is now getting some good PR - we have been featured on Plymouth Sound radio, in the Sun newspaper (although they printed the wrong web address!), Navy News, The Plymouth Herald and the Harwich and Manningtree Standard.
