Bad news from the rescue

Nowzad - the original Nowzad Dog

Not sure how to tell everyone but we heard the saddest news today. Out of the 11 puppies that made the safety of the rescue shelter - 9 of them have died from the parvo virus before they could be immunized.

Due to the every worsening security situation in Afghanistan, the rescue can not afford to openly look after animals or use western medicines.

The rescue just did not have enough stocks to inoculate every puppy and so nine of them were just not ready to be hit with an outbreak of the virus.

Thankfully though two of Tali pups were jabbed and did survive!

Jena (on the right in the kennel), with the two pups that survived!

This happening just makes us at Nowzad Dogs even more determined to raise funds to prevent this happening again and to make sure we find decent and safe homes for the remaining dogs.
