New mountains for Nowzad

Penny recently returned from an expedition to climb in an unexplored region of Kyrgyzstan to raise money for Nowzad Dogs.

The unclimbed mountains of the Tien Shan

The expedition was a fantastic 3 weeks of climbing in a remote and unexplored region of the Tien Shan mountain range in Kyrgyzstan and there was the added bonus that we raised lots of money for Nowzad Dogs!!! Thank you to all those who sponsored Penny F and the team. Especially "J2" and "Nutrecare".

We managed to climb what we hope are first ascents of mountains by climbing exciting steep snow and ice routes. At times it was quite hard going, including spending an unplanned night at 4555m without our sleeping bags! We also named the high point along one of the first ridges we explored as Point Nowzad - the views were fantastic!

Kyrgyzstan is a fantastic destination and one we hope to return to in the future - the mountaineering possibilities are endless. More pictures and the blogs on the expedition Website at www.pmpt.co.uk
